Practicing the Future: Launching the Arab Homes for Humanity Film Series

When war seeks to silence the future, how do young people become its voice?

Through the month of May 2026, Alexander and Rama, Co-founders of the Home for Humanity movement, took the One Home Journey to Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, and Jordan. While war continued to ravage the region, they traveled by land across these long-tortured borders, championing the courageous people and organizations who are responding to cycles of destruction by creatively nurturing care and compassion for all life.

Today, on 17.07—a special day for the One Home Journey of 7 Years for 7 Generations, now entering its third year—we are thrilled to launch an inspiring and educational bilingual English-Arabic Film Series of 10 videos. These films feature the extraordinary organizations honored as Homes for Humanity across these four countries. Each one teaches us vital life lessons on how to create the future amidst the devastation of today.

The Hope Factory: SHAREK Youth Forum in Palestine

We are proud to open the series by highlighting the incredible power of the next generation. Our first film features the remarkable SHAREK Youth Forum in Palestine—an organization that, for 25 years, has nurtured the young leaders that our wounded world so desperately needs today.

Founded by students two and a half decades ago, SHAREK has empowered youth across Palestine to transform despair into action, exclusion into participation, and adversity into hope. They teach us all how to be a "Hope Factory" and how to practice the future, no matter what challenges arise.

Honored as a Home for Humanity

The SHAREK Youth Forum is officially honored as a Home for Humanity across all three dimensions of our movement:

• Inner Home: For empowering Palestinian youth to discover their voice, dignity, leadership, and capacity to shape their own future, even amidst occupation, displacement, and war.

• Local Home: For cultivating a culture of participation, solidarity, active citizenship, and community resilience across Palestine, enabling young people to become powerful agents of social transformation.

• Earth Home: For demonstrating that hope, democracy, and human dignity can flourish even in the most challenging circumstances, inspiring an entire generation to contribute to a more just, peaceful, and compassionate world.

Alongside this powerful first film, we are also releasing, with profound joy, the Arabic-language edition of our book, "Caring Together for Our One Home Earth."
