10 August 2026: From Indigenous Wisdom to a Regenerative Future

Celebrating UNESCO's International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples "What if the wisdom of Indigenous Peoples was already cultivating the future of humanity?" On the International Day of Happiness in March 2026, the One Home Journey (1HJ) experienced a profound moment of global solidarity. Traveling to Cochabamba, Bolivia, our team joined more than 40 indigenous communities from Bolivia, Peru, and Ecuador during the annual gathering of the Pachakuti Network.

Our shared mission? To plant a Garden of Unity at the inspiring School of Mother Earth. The Living Philosophy of Sumak Kawsay

This beautiful gathering was deeply rooted in the philosophy of Sumak Kawsay—the practice of "good living" in perfect harmony with one another and with Pachamama, our Mother Earth.

The communities of the Pachakuti Network are not simply preserving the past; they are actively demonstrating how to build a better tomorrow by weaving together:

• Ancestral Wisdom: Keeping ancient, earth-centered knowledge alive and relevant.

• Ecological Regeneration: Healing the land and restoring natural balance.

• Cultural Renewal: Celebrating and revitalizing indigenous identities and languages.

• Social Innovation: Creating community-led solutions to modern challenges.

• Local Economies: Building new, sustainable frameworks for trade and livelihood.

Together, they prove a powerful truth: Indigenous wisdom does not belong solely to history books. It constitutes a vibrant, living path toward a regenerative, peaceful, and life-affirming future.

Planting the Garden of Unity

The Garden of Unity we sowed together in the Bolivian soil carries the shared dreams of this extraordinary network. More than just a physical space, it stands as a living symbol of hope, belonging, and co-creation for both present and future generations. Every seed planted was a commitment to nurturing the Earth that nurtures us.

A Historic Milestone for Home for Humanity

During this gathering, a unique milestone was reached for our movement. On this occasion, the School of Mother Earth, the 40 indigenous initiatives of the Pachakuti Network, and the entire overarching network were officially recognized as Homes for Humanity.

For the first time in our journey, we recognized not just individual communities, but an entire living ecosystem of peoples, cultures, and initiatives working in unison for the well-being of all life.
