We are thrilled to celebrate outstanding recognition for remarkable leadership in peace and unity — and a powerful full-circle moment that bridges global vision with local transformation — on 26 November 2025, Mindanao, Philippines.
Honouring Visionary Leaders

Huge congratulations to Dr. Rama Mani and Prof. Alexander Schieffer on receiving the Gusi International Peace Prize — often called the Asian Nobel Prize. Their lifelong dedication to Planetary Peace and Transformative Leadership has inspired countless communities worldwide to reimagine governance, sustainability, and unity.
From Global Laureates to Local Heroes
As part of the Gusi laureates’ journey, Dr. Mani and Prof. Schieffer travelled to Kauswagan, a municipality in the Philippines that has become a beacon of environmental peacebuilding. Once a conflict zone, Kauswagan has transformed since 2010 under the visionary leadership of Mayor Rommel C. Arnado.
Through the groundbreaking From Arms to Farms program, the community has integrated:
Demilitarisation and reintegration of former fighters
Sustainable agriculture as a foundation for livelihoods
Ethical governance rooted in trust and inclusivity
Peacebuilding practices that heal divisions and nurture resilience
This remarkable journey has earned Kauswagan international recognition, including the World Future Policy Award Honourable Mention (2018) and Winner (2024). A Historic Recognition
On 4 December 2025, Kauswagan became the first municipality ever to receive the Home for Humanity Award, honouring its extraordinary transformation from conflict to community. (Watch the film on YouTube)
Dr. Rama Mani captured the spirit of this achievement with heartfelt words:
“You are the most outstanding exemplar of true peace and unity I have experienced in my 35 years of experience worldwide in post-conflict peacebuilding and global governance.”
This moment is more than a celebration of awards — it is a testament to the power of visionary leadership, community resilience, and the synergy between global thought leaders and local changemakers. It shows that peace is not an abstract ideal, but a lived reality when communities choose transformation over division.
